History

November, 1930 Established as NAGAI SHIPBUILDING in Kitaminato-machi, Fukuoka.
November, 1943 Annexed to FUKUOKA SHIPBUILDING IRON WORKS CO., LTD. due to the act for the industrial adjustment in wartime.
November, 1947 Established KOYO SHIPBUILDING CO., LTD. In 59 Kitaminato-machi, Fukuoka with JPY 800 thousand in capital.
July, 1948 The capital was increased to JPY 4 Million.
October, 1958 Changed the company’s name to FUKUOKA SHIPBUILDING CO., LTD.
February, 1961 The capital was increased to JPY 8 Million.
December, 1970 Expanded the building berth to 3,000 G/T.
February, 1971 The capital was increased to JPY 32 Million.
December, 1971 Expanded the building berth to 5,000 G/T.
June, 1972 The capital was increased to JPY 48 Million.
January, 1976 Expanded the building berth to 10,000 G/T.
May, 1977 The capital was increased to JPY 96 Million.
March, 2004 Opened Nagasaki Yard (the building berth: 25,000 G/T), in the entire facilities assigned by EVERGREEN SHIPYARD.
June, 2004 Expanded the building berth in Fukuoka Yard to 12,000 G/T.
November, 2005 Fukuoka Yard was awarded the 19th Fukuoka City Landscape Prize.
October, 2009 Opened the Doinokubi Factory.
October, 2016 Opened the Yagijima Factory.
January, 2018 Acquired Watanabe Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. as a wholly owned subsidiary.
April, 2018 Associated with Usuki Shipyard Co., Ltd. to make 90% of the issued stocks acquired.
June, 2018 Acquired Usuki Shipyard Co., Ltd. as a wholly owned subsidiary.
July, 2021 Established Fukuoka Create Co., Ltd.
April, 2023 Opened the Kawajiri Factory.
